Lewis/Skil beats tired Milwaukee Spirits in title gameLewis/Skil of Traverse City defeated the Milwaukee Spirits, 44-26, in the 2008 Class A Championship. Coming out of a tough loser's bracket path, Milwaukee Spirits threw in the towel half way through the second half. Lewis/Skil was led by Jason Jamerson with 15 and Chad Pleiness with 13. James Stewart and Larry House both had 7 points for Milwaukee Spirits. All-Tournament Team honors went to Radayl Richardson of Rookies/I-Build, Carl Thomas of L.A. Heat, Mike Campbell of Heads da Bed, Omar Waller and Tom Marowelli of Boykins Outlawz, Andre Dalton and James Stewart of Milwaukee Spirits and Callistus Exiukwu and Kyle Carhardt of Lewis/Skil. Jason Jamerson of Lewis/Skil was named the Class A Most Valuable Player. The Class A Sportsmanship Award went to Jandron's Fine Jewelry. Darious Simmons of G.I. Dream Team won the 2008 Fox-Negaunee Slam Dunk contest. Katu Davis of Basketball Unlimited took the 2008 Fox-Negaunee Three-point Shootout title. |

Class A will be held April 18, 19 and 20 with the Fox-Negaunee Class A Slam dunk and Three-point Shootout at 8:15 p.m. Saturday. |
Detroit Hummer won the Class C championship over Ewen Building Supplies, 73-58. Jeff Steifel had 15 and Steve McCune had 14 for Detroit Hummer. Jake Gobert tossed in 16 and Kurt Corcoran scored 14 for Ewen Building Supplies. All-tournament team honors went to Justin Gustafson of Nor "Roc" Hawks of Republic; Jesse Kentala of O'Doyle Rules of Dollar Bay; Jeff Steifel and Darrin Jones of Detroit Hummer; and Kurt Corcoran and Jake Gobert of Ewen Building Supplies. McCune of Detroit Hummer was named Class C Most Valuable Player.
Sodegren Septic of Ishpeming won the Class DD Championship, defeating Minerick, Inc. of Sagola, 95-64. Jason Lawson scored 26 and Griffin Lawson had 16 for Sodegren Septic. Eric Shamion had 19 and and Kyle Sabota scored 16 for Minerick, Inc. All-Tournament Team honors went to Dane Nelson of Hard Rock Bar; Jay Peterson of 3% Realty; Eric Shamion and Tom Williams of Minerick, Inc. and Griffin Lawson and Mark Korpi of Sodegren Septic. The Class DD Most Valuable Player went to Brandon Lawson of Sodegren Septic.
Van Ert Electric of Gwinn defeated Forward Financial/Dal Santo Construction of Niagara, 72-49 to take the Class D Championship crown. Tanner Norman scored 26 and Tim Simula had 11 for Van Ert Electric. Colby Dal Santo had 16 and Brian Waitrovich had 11 for Forward Financial/Dal Santo. All-Tournament Team honors went to Nathan Dodge of Alexander Insulation; Brent Parrett of Jim's Plumbing; Mike Cross and Brian Waitrovich of Forward Financial/Dal Santo Construction and Tim Simula and Ryan Kohl of Van Ert Electric. Tanner Norman of Van Ert Electric was named Class D Most Valuable Player.
Flatliners of Marquette defeated A&F Construction of Ishpeming in the Class EE final, 58-47. Jamie Koskala scored 17 and Jason Evans had 14 for Flatliners. Jason Gravedoni had 17 and Kyle Brown had 9 for A&F Construction. All-tournament team honors went to Brian Matthews of Barnes Bros Roofing; Greg Porter of Chatham Co-op/Ace Hardware; Kyle Brown and Jason Gravedoni of A&F Construction; and Sean Codere and Jason Evans of Flatliners. Jamie Koskala of Flatliners was named Class EE Most Valuable Player.
Joseph's Supervalu of Ishpeming beat Wideman Law Center of Negaunee, 56-37, to win the Class E championship. Derrick Burke and Chad Hewitt led Joseph's with 11 and 9 points, respectively. Jeff DeBolt had 6 and Karl Wideman had 15 for Wideman Law Center. Class E All-Tournament Team members were Shawn Radcliffe of Teal Lake Tanning; Tom Carlson of Super One Oldtimers; Karl Wideman and Jeff DeBolt of Wideman Law Center; and Cory McCullough and Curt Huot of Joseph's Supervalu. Chad Hewitt of Joseph's was the Class E Most Valuable Player.

Lewis/Skil of Traverse City defeated 3% Realty of Marquette in the 45 & Older Championship on Sunday, 67-56. Ron Fewins of Lewis/Skil was named MVP.
All-tournament team members included Rob Makela of Wideman Law Center, Terry Sell of Vango's/Auto Trader, Jay Chapman and Jerry Zabrowski of 3% Realty, and Jerry O'Connell and Randy Miller of Lewis/Skil.
