FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Basketball tournament dates set for 2006NEGAUNEE—Negaunee Basketball, Inc., has announced the 2006 Negaunee Invitational Basketball Tournament dates. The tournament will run from March 24 through April 23, 2006. Class A action will be held on April 21, 22 and 23 and Class B will be held on April 7, 8 and 9. The 45 & Older class will play March 31 and April 1 and 2. The tournament staff plans to update the Web site with tournament brackets and results as when action begins. Past tournament winners, photos, press releases and a history of the tournament are available on the site. The tournament directors will again try to get enough teams for a high school seniors division. Invitations continue to be sent out through mid-February. Action begins on Friday, March 24 with games at 6:00, 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Lakeview Memorial Gymnasium in Negaunee. Games are also scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday and 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. The tournament, which is the largest of its kind in the Midwest, hosts 109 teams this year. Tournament sponsors include Cenex, Charter Communications, Coca-Cola, Crown Motors, Domino's Pizza (Three-Point Shootout), Econo Foods, ESPN AM970 WZAM, Frei Chevrolet, The Mining Journal, NuStar Insurance Agency, Rookie's (Slam Dunk Competition), Shirt Tales, Sunny 102, Tino's Bar & Pizza and Wells Fargo. Admission is $1 at the door or $10 for an all-tournament pass, which is good for entry to all competition except Class A and Class B.
